so I removed the regen sol and coil assembly and i put in new batteries today and found out the motor has problems as it got hot right away and started smoking.I removed the motor and did continuity test on the field studs to the casing and they checked out good. tried to get the brush end off but wouldnt you know one is screw is froze in. tried heat and penetrating oil but no good and rounded the head so I will have to destroy that one. I'll go at it tomorrow again. any thoughts about what might be the problem? any help is appreciated. Thanks Rick

Thanks Tom
The motor checked out good and I ran it with a 12 V battery, found the solenoid was bad and replaced it. that eliminated the voltage to the motor with the key off.Still wont go. low hum from the controler when I put the ground cable on battery pack. Im thinking controller is bad. I am waiting for heat sink and diodes for the charger so I can charge the batteries before I do any thing more. Thanks again Rick
