Default 08 Club Car Precident Sound

I have a 2008 precident and there is a beep when the forward-reverse switch is in either direction and also when it's in neutral. I can put it in tow and the sound goes away. I hear the sound from behind the batteries when in neutral and forward. But the reverse buzzer goes off when put in reverse and that same sound from behind the batteries. I have never heard another bzzing sound in a car other than when put in reverse. I have no idea whats going on. Any info would help greatly.

Not quite sure here, what you saying that you have ( 2 ) different sounds? One normal beep for normal back up alarm ( which is mounted behind dash ) and ANOTHER REVERSE ALARM LIKE SOUND coming from behind battery area ( near motor ) when in forward or reverse, or even when in neutral? By putting switch in TOW you are turning off most control circuits so I can see that alright. Can you tell us what this sound is like to you, is it EXACTLY like normal reverse beep sound or slightly different like a relay opening and closing real fast, or a rattling sound like something knocking against metal real fast?
Now if you feel that you can perform the next test I would do the following?
I would try with your hand ( first with SAFETY GLASSES ON "that I always wear when working near battery packs", and "light weight cloth gloves" to protect from possible shock, also NO watch or rings or anything metalic on your person ) while sound is going on to check solenoid, controller, OBC and any other items near the area of sound and see if you can pin point sourse of sound. I normally would use a wooden ruler for this kind of tests but there is so little room so gloves would be second best idea for protection. Let forum know what you find?

I will try those tests... but a little more info for you. The sound is slightly quieter that the reverse buzzer. Also I had an assistant pressure washing the cart fleet and he was the one that noticed the sound. He said he used the washer under the car not inside the battery compartment. He might have soaked something. I am just curious to what makes that sound if it gets wet. Anyway I will post anymore info I find out.

Thanks for your help

Do you think sound was there before power wash or only afterwards? If only afterwards I would open up all covers and allow to dry out good? Non IQ models had micro switches that when wet would short out and turn things on when power was on, and possibly your IQ plug in wiring on controller is shorted by water under pressure as well?
Just a thought ( cheap fix )??

The sound was after pressure washing. I told park it and leave it opened up. The barn the carts are stored is heated and I just went to check to see if it was still beeping and it had shopped. Thanks for your help. Next time he's not going to was anywhere near the controller.

Thanks again

Not too uncommon to have problems after washing and especially bad when power washing ( which is great if you have work to do underneith ) with new style plug in connections especially on controller?

This happened to me once while mud riding. I just took the connection to the buzzer off and let it dry for a couple of days. It's not like the buzzer is neccesary anyways. After a while I took it back off due to the annoyingness.

Water in the F&R Switch..... very common.... I have to take them apart and blow them out with high pressured air about 2-3 times a week because our salesmen wash them and get the switches wet.
