I'd purchase a manual from a BGW Vendor if they carry them or a CC dealer and also get a PDF version as well. Once you have it... well... no more guess work!

What Scuba said!
But, If you've ever worked with drums brakes on a car, CC's are very similar! Here's a some things to look out for: ~Only do 1 side at a time! and use the other side for reference. ~The axle hub will be in the way, and will make things a bit more difficult, but it can be done! ~There are 2 different sized brake linings per side, (leading, and trailing shoes) pay attention to which, goes where. ~Use a small amount of grease wherever the shoe contacts the backing plate. (WITHOUT getting any on the linings!) ~And make sure to clean and lube the self adjuster! If you've never worked on drum brakes, either get a manual, or have someone do it for you! Brakes are something that need to be done RIGHT the first time! |
