30w Synthetic Oil

I went to the local auto parts store for some 30w synthetic oil to change in my CC differential. The only thing I could find in synthetic is 0w/30. Is this ok to use or should I look further for 30w?

Id do what the manual recommends which is probably a 10w-30. I used regular gear oil 80w-90 and did not have near as good of results as with the recommended 10w-30. 0w-30 is a very low weight. Don't know man but I wouldnt risk it. I would shop around for the right SAE oil especially if going synthetic. Synthetic Royal Purple 10w-30 did great for me and resulted in 1-2 mph increases. As hard as it is to believe.

I do not have a CC manual. I looked at some threads here on BGW and I seen where to use 30 SAE motor oil. So I went to the Auto-zone and ask for 30 SAE synthetic motor oil. They got me 0w/30 and told me it was the same thing as 30 SAE. I bought it anyway like a dummy. I think I'm going to take it back tomorrow for a refund. I guess I'll look online for Royal Purple 30 SAE. Thanks for the help, Greg

It will work just fine.

0/30 will work but 10w/30 will work better especially if its synthetic. Lets face it, you wont have to change the gear lube for the next 5 years so why not put the best. Just my suggestion. Try putting the 0/30 then change it for 10w/30 syn to see if there is any improvement.

You can get straight 30w Synthetic Oil online... I purchased Royal Purple SAE 30w that way since I didn't find it at any local Auto Parts stores.

I found some Royal Purple online at Amazon. I bought 3 qts. so I got free shipping. I'll use the other 2 qts. some where. I'm going to take this qt of 0w/30 back to the Zone and get my money back. Thanks everybody, Greg

22 oz. (0.67 liters) SAE 30 WT. API
Class SE, SF, or SG Oil (or higher)
