None that young.
U think this is strange , but this stems from reality.
In 1974 a uncle of mine passed, at the estate auction , on one of the odd and ends
trailers of items being sold was an old rock.
After selling all the items on the trailer the auctioneer as a joke picked up the rock
and said I have it on good authority this is over 100 years old ... it sold for $6 to a lady (stranger) from town .

White Rice--picture can be found at golfcartpartsdirect.com go to 1997 gas-eletric listing and look under 48 volt motor to see parts location. Hope that helps you out?

I also have a 2000 DS and neither the parts manual nor the maintenance and repair manual make any reference to these parts. Seems this year they didn't need one !!! or have they screwed up the manuals ?

After looking at the exploded view that was shown, the 98 and 2000 are different. I have my motor at the house and it does not have those parts. I wont be able to look at the differential for at least a month. Does any one have any idea what might be making the noise?

The parts manual from golfcartpartsdirect.com show following
1992-1996 36 and 48 Volt motors Take Guide Ring CC #101789101, Retainer CC #101822801. ( NOTE I ADD the Lub CC #102243403 to stop freezing shaft?)
1997-1999 36 and 48 volt motors take Giude Ring CC #101789101, Retaining Ring CC #101822801, and Adhesive CC#101813202. ( NOTE I ADD LUB CC #102243403.)
ALL 2000-2005 DS and Precedent from 2004-2007 all show same parts listed. DRIVE BUMPER CC #102235201, Lub CC #102243403.

Old Mec when I go to golfcartpartsdirect.com and I click on 2000 - 2005 Club Car DS Gas or Electric and open up the 48V motor exploded view it does not show the motor takes the guide ring or retainer ring. I see the bumper that you are referring too. I have the motor pulled off my cart and it is just like what is shown. The shaft is splined internally and the bumper slide into it. I appreciate your help with this problem.
