Re: electric iq club car
To start with was battery pack CORRECTLY UNHOOKED according to owners manual and run-tow switch was in tow before replacing any parts? Incorrectly done can ruin controllers etc??
"New ICOR" Dont you mean "MCOR"? "Hear motor ( thumping ) in run position with KEY OFF" sounds like you have some wiring wrong? Same for "Back Up Buzzer Constant" "Solenoid clicks" could be bad internal contacts or bad cells in battery pack? I would have recommended jumpering large posts BUT I DONT DO THAT ON A IQ. You need to go back to basics and check your power sourse for condition. Using a single float hydrometer ( NOT A MULTI FLOAT ANTIFREEZE TESTER ) with temperature correcting scale on each cell of each battery and record. Then do a voltage test first on each battery and then get TOTAL PACK voltage and record. With all that information go to STICKIES "State Of Charge Readings" and compare to what you recorded to see if battery-or batterys are your problem? IF IN DOUBT POST ALL READING SO FORUM can advise you. |

Re: electric iq club car
Update...It was the motor and yes I meant "MCOR" . Typo error small stuff... Had a floating ground to chassis causing the reverse buzzer to activate . On the road to recovery. At 6,000 miles a year it deserves some PM. Thanks guys

Re: electric iq club car
New question; replaced bad motor. bad mcor(completely dead) replaced with used mcor. now it works ...but only have 1 speed;. full torque-full power. could used mcor also be bad?.. Seems I had this problem way back when & replacing mcor was solution. It wants to do wheelies and being its the wifes cart she uses to commute to work ...that's not good

Re: electric iq club car
I would think that its a bad MCOR from what you say, as long as you have confirmed that ALL wiring is all done correctly?
With your previous problem with floating ground its ALSO just possible that you MIGHT have damaged your controller? I sure hope this is not the case. |

Re: electric iq club car
Thanks old mec.. It just came back fm the shop where they replaced the motor which was bad .Controller was rechecked OK. but when they tried they couldn't get it to run ; diagnosed mcor as bad and threw in a used mcor Works but wants to do wheelies when you touch the throttle. I have the troubleshooting sheet for mcor but appreciate others advise before dumping more money in it. As I said I seem to remember this problem before(with the mcor) I'm guessing the used mcor is faulty. seems common. Thanks again
