Can you charge 3 8v batt w/ 2 -12v chargers

I searched and could not find an answer. Is this possible, is so, how do hookem up. Thanks, Mike

MIke, I don't know how to do that but.....you can charge 8v with a 12v charger that has a 2amp setting.....you need to watch it very closely and see that it doesn't get too hot ( fill water before charge. charge with caps removed) or over charge. Turn it off and check every 30 minutes...once it gets above 9v let it settle for 30 minutes and you will have a true reading. Still need more? Go easy in 15 minute intervals and never more than 2 amps..Mine came up in 1 to 2 hours with this method as explained to me by a very reliable source...main thing here is to go easy and keep an eye on em..."this is not for the novice to try"

So you want to connect to 12 volt chargers in series huh.....It is possible but it depends on the charger. If I had 2 cheapo units that didn't cost much I would not hesitate to try. I asked Nate this same question long ago.....he will know more about it and what types of chargers can be connected in series.

Some of the cheap transformer chargers will hook in series. Hook them up like you would batteries then hook the remaining Pos and Neg to the battery(s) you want to charge. Use same model chargers and make sure batteries and chargers do not over heat. As Scottyb pointed out it is not a novice charge system. Monitor heat and amps on everything but use at your own risk.

I was looking for an easy way to charge. I bought a CC cart and was thinking if moving 72v hardware from old ezgo to newer CC. I think I will just install my 6v batterries to CC if I decide to go that way. I bought CC just to resell, but may keep to play with. Thanks.

If you are planning to sell the CC then don't stray to far from stock but if you are going to keep it then mod away!

If you want to charge 8V batteries individually do what scottyb suggests.

MIke, what year CC did you pick up?

My '89 has been running for 5 or 6 months on 48v without any problems.

I bought a 2003 series CC. I think I got a decent deal. $1475.00 with charger, roof and windshield.
