Default Re: 92 Club Car Rebuild (Help Needed)

If I was going to wire mtor voltages up to 72 volts I would start with 36 volts and go from there as motor wont function below that point. This would give you more space between wiper contacts so there wouldnt be 2 solenoids closed at same time if I have calculated correctly? You will have a dead spot between each wiper contact point that could put quite a load on bearings in motor and differential? Having only tried many years ago to go above 48 volts, and that was with results of burning much worse damage than what SCOTTYB sent picture of and only in very short period of use? Destroyed motor in about 10 runs and 2 new V Glides in 10 runs? The only correct way to go that high in voltage is to use solid state controller made for that voltage and control circuits would all be 12 volts I think ( again I have never gone with modern controls so may be wrong )?
