Opinions needed
I looking at doing some upgrades to my old cart. Its a 93 resistor cart from what I can tell. I would like to use it to do some hunting out of. I plan on just putting a z lift and some 22 inch tires on it. I also plan on either upgrading the motor to a plum quick and leave it as a 36v, or convert it to a 48v and leave the stock motor in it. My question is what would some of you do and which would be the most bang for the buck.

Re: Opinions needed
Resistor coil carts are not good for off roading. A solid state conversion and upgrade to 48v is the best choice in my opinion.

Cheeto since you already have the cart and know the cart I am sure upgrading may be your preferred option and scottyb and others can help you with that.
We did not have a cart and was looking at a mid 90's cart but learned we could get a 2007 cart that had the base features that better met our needs for only $500 more and started up grading from that point. Getting the list of things for the upgrading as you are doing will let you do the math and decide on which route to take. |

Re: Opinions needed
Forgot to mention it is time for a new set of batteries. So new 8 volt batties wouldn't really hurt that bad. Now if i can figure out the rest of it. How much more performance could I expect if I upgrade the motor along with the conversion?

Re: Opinions needed
The 48v conversion with a 400 amp controller, 48v solenoid and 4ga cables will give you a 30% increase in speed and torque, I doubt you would need a motor. After the lift and tire change you will get an additional 10% in speed with a comparable reduction in torque.

READ through the posts for WARDO5757--Pretty much covers subject as all older resistor carts are the same.
