self-install motor upgrade 48V club car
Just picked up a 2008 48V Club Car, 6" lift, 23" tires, brand new batteries. Dealer said it has been set to "highest speed setting" and it is GPS'ing at 17-18 MPH consistently. Is there a motor I can get that will increase speed to 25 MPH without upgrading controller, cables, selenoid etc. and if so, can I install myself? I am handy but this is my first time at Golf cars.

Plum Quick's "Bandit" it would increase your speed and torque. But it would perform best with larger cables and controller.

Call D&D motors. Great guy. I bought a motor and just ordered a programable controller.

Thanks for the insight guys. If I go with a "bandit" how hard is this install myself assuming I stay with stock controller and wires?

Re: self-install motor upgrade 48V club car
10 minutes, if the old motor comes out easy !
U can try taking it out before Ur new motor arrives to insure it is ready . Make sure when disconnecting and reconnecting the motor wires that U use 2 wrenches . 1 on inside of lug to keep the lug from spinning and the 1 on outside to remove the wire nut. |
