Default Watt meter and Power Analyzer

I was wondering if anyone has one of these on their carts or has used one?

A friend at work pointed this out and it looks pretty cool.

Current 0-100 A peak, 50 A continuous, resolution 0.01 A

This unit is intended for the RC hobby and is mismatched for cart usage.

I agree with Gornoman. Your cart will draw as much as 300 amps at full throttle acceleration and 80 amps continuous, 100 amps/50 amps won't cut it.

And here are the applications to show why it is a no go for a cart.

Applications:

Specially designed for RC Battery Packs to help you:

Set speed control cutoff voltages and currents
Tune performance by comparing different setups of pro-peller, motor, gearing, speed control and battery
Measures a full battery charge
Check when peak currents are safe for battery, speed control, motor, wiring and connectors
Predict airplane flight time based on ACTUAL conditions in your model
Check battery capacity and health and whether battery should be retired
Verify that the minimum voltage under load is within specifications
Check for wiring and connector power losses.
Fine-tuning your electric RC cars & planes for great performance doesn't have to be a guessing game
Measure power and energy consumption of ANY device with a rechargeable battery pack, such as RC car battery pack, Bike lighting battery pack,E-bike and Scooter battery pack
Combine the power analyzer together with our 2.4V - 7.2V, 7.2V - 12V, 24V NiMH universal smart chargers , and with 3.6V - 14.8V Li-Ion battery charger It is perfect tool to monitor battery pack's performance

if you already have a volt meter, you can add a current meter and then calculate watts in.

So, now that I've heard the why nots, does anyone know where I can pick up an amp hr meter than can handle the current on a cart?

Thanks,

Doug

amp meter? or amp hour meter?

an amp meter is real time device. an amp hour meter is a cumulative measurement.

An ammeter is pretty simple but an AmpHour meter may be too expensive to justify for a cart.
Rather than speculate it might be good if dgcurtis tells us what he's trying to do and we can find the product for him.
