Light usually indicates battery, cable, or OBC problems? WONDERING did you disconnect cables from motor while adding lift in rear as it can swing around and hit and damage wiring, motor, solenoid, controller or OBC? I would check all the batterys to confirn that you dont have a weak cell or cells. Then check all your wiring for a loose connection. Then its trial and error finding problem as it may not have anything directly to do with job of lifting cart?
It can be MCOR pedal speed control not making good contact through range of travel?

The MCOR is located under passenger side floor and is a sealed unit sorry no cleaning can be done to it. Before doing anything else you should test your batterys for weak cell or cells as without proper battery power nothing is going to work right. Then check cables and connection points. There is a vay of testing a MCOR unit if you have a digital volt, amp, ohms meter available and are familiar with its operation?

Put this thing on the charger and let it run until charger cuts off , wait 8-10 hours and test batteries if they are not close to 100% , its time for new ones.

I get mine from local Habor Freight for about $4-$7, if I have problems just get another and throw old one away. ( I get two at a time but still on second one after 4 years BUT NOT highest quality by far, but good enough for a Abama income poor retiree )?
