97 Club Car Charger won't click on
I have a 97 CC Centennial Regen. It had been in storage for several years before I got it. I put good batteries in it and when I tried it it wouldn't go. The solenoid clicks and the backup horn sounds but nothing. When I plugged in the charger it clicks but doesn't start to charge. My charger does work on other carts.
I tried to reset the OBC and unlike the directions I received, the backup horn didn't stop after 30 seconds. I also don't appear to have a tow switch or a fuse receptacle, just an inline fuse in a yellow waterproof case, Would a bad solenoid cause the charger from charging as well as making the cart not move? What would be the next trouble shooting steps. Thanks |

Re: 97 Club Car Charger won't click on
Get a digital volt meter, Lowes, Harbor Freight, auto parts store.
Measure across the entire pack , a 48 Volt cart with OBC controlled charger will not come on if the pack vontage is lower than 36-38 Volts. let it go until it stops ( the backup horn didn't stop after 30 seconds ) this is draining power off the OBC. |

Re: 97 Club Car Charger won't click on
Should I send you the whole cart or just the horn...LOL
I will try it again, these are the directions I used. To reset the OBC the following must be done in this order: If no Tow/Run Switch then skip that step • Key Switch to Off • Forward/Reverse to Neutral • Tow/Run Switch to Tow • Disconnect the Battery NEGATIVE (–) wire from the Battery Minus terminal on the battery pack. • Put the Tow/Run to Run • Forward/Reverse Switch to Reverse • Key Switch to On • Lock the throttle pedal down The reverse buzzer will sound and go off in about 30 seconds. Leave the cart like that for 5 min to cause the OBC to reset. To reconnect the OBC back into the system: • Key Switch to Off • Forward/Reverse Switch to Neutral • Tow/Run switch to Tow • Reconnect the Batt – wire to the battery minus terminal on the battery pack. SHould I wait for the horn to stop before I start timing the 5 minutes. Like I said it stopped momentarily a couple of times but started right back up. Should I start timing after the first time it stops????? |

Re: 97 Club Car Charger won't click on
With the last battery in the chain disconnected , this can only last so long , the horn cannot run without electricity and having the last post on the last battery in the pack is removing voltage . Tough it out !
