Default Rear Shock Lengths, compressed and extended?

I have an 88 CC with a 6" Allsports lift, HD rear srprings and 22-11-12 all terrains. When I installed the lift, I used the original rear shocks with the extension stems that were provided with the kit. I was out this weekend at a local campground, when I was strapping the cart down on the trailer to come home, I noticed that the right rear shock was busted and leaking fluid. I now have to replace the shocks and want to do so without having to use the stem extensions that came with the lift kit. Now to the question....How do I measure the minimum and maximun or compressed and extended lengths so I know the right size shock to use?

I've researched on the Monroe site as to what different models there are for my application, just need to determine the right length now.

Thanks...

Tony

Measure the distance from the center of both mounting points with cart empty, then with normally full loaded, and then with body lifted so suspension is hanging and then you cut the distance in 1/2 and allow for travel beyond those points.
