I spoke to Carson who told me they use the existing sensor....the motor does not come with a new sensor. Seems to be a problem with mine not workiing.

I know that if you didn't have a core motor then the price would go from $225 to $325 or an extra $100. Keep in mind that you would have to ship your core to them and that alone would be $30-$50 anyway so the true cost wouldn't be that full $100.

Success! Thanks everybody. The problem was quickly identified, one part purchased. Speed sensor was changed out and the cart is working as new. I do appreciate all the help. Frank

Since my speed sensor appears to be not working on my 2006 Precedent could I buy the Allegro sensor and attach to the side of the hat style sensor and wire in the plug? Spend $1.55 vs $100?

Yes it did work! I went ahead and bought the Allegro sensor as listed in a previous post. Quite supprised to get a box in the mail and then have to look for the sensor as is it is less than 1/4 inch. At this point I was did not believe something this small could ever work. Wired it in and taped it to the side of the hat style sensor and sure enough I have a working sensor. Took it back apart and drilled a hole and epoxied for a more permant fix. Looks like I save well over $100. Thanks guys!

you're welcome! and congrats! sorry i missed your post on the 17th... glad you went ahead and ordered the part!

if you can post a few pictures, im sure they would be of much help to other forum members faced with the same problem. as far as i know, you're the first person to report about replacing the actual hall effect sensor here on bgw.
