Default Newbie...roling chassis help

Hi,
New here...first post. I have the opportunity to buy a rolling chassis w/ body for dirt cheap. It has nothing else. I was wondering, roughly, what it would cost to set it up with the high torque 48v system? I plan on putting a 4wd kit in it. THis will be used on the farm and in the woods here in eastern Kentucky. I have a tractor & 4wheeler, plus a Samurai. As a disabled vet, I'm looking for something I can get close to my hunting spots, without spooking game. All help is appreciated.
Thanks............GREAT FORUM, I've been lurking her for a long while.

Oh and my name was suppose to say "Ky_Madman"

a lot,
controller = $250 - $500
Motor = $250 - $400
4 wd kit = +$ 1,500 - $2,000
Batteries = $600-$700
Solenoid, micros, linkage, battery cables, wiring harness
...etc. another = +$ 1000
New tires/wheels ... $xxx

You might get by with $3,500 - $4,000

Thanks for the reply. So I guess I should probably buy a used 48v and then add the 4wd, tires, wheels?

I believe that the 4wd kit from Imaginative comes with a high torque motor.

Yeah, without a doubt. Here in eastern Kentucky, it's mountains, logging roads, and deep hollers (hollows). Seems as if nothing is flat.

starting with a working cart will get you up and running faster and likely much cheaper, however, if your needs are as extreme as you present, then all of the electronics will need to be replaced anyways. depending on the savings, condition of the batteries, etc., the roller might be the better deal in the long run.
