Re: Precedent/Replaced Batteries,OBC/Still no go
Has anything been done to cart prior to this problem other than what was indicated? Was this the reason for replacing batterys and OBC?
Do you have a digital volt meter available? If so start with basics and test ( total battery pack ) for correct voltage of about 50.96 volts. Just because batterys are new does not mean you have proper voltage for several reasons. Improper wiring, defective battery, the possible improper shut down procedure before installation of batterys? Please advise if you have meter and know how to use it. |

Voltage is 51, each battery load tests good, what is the proper way to install batteries? Cart worked well last fall, batteries were not holding charge so I replaced them.

Re: Precedent/Replaced Batteries,OBC/Still no go
Proper way to do any work on electric carts wiring and batterys and especially with IQ carts is following
#1 turn key switch to OFF #2 place tow-run switch in TOW #3 F&R in NEUTRAL #4 remove battery pack GROUND CABLE ( cable that goes through OBC ) at battery post wrap cable end with electrical tape to keep from shorting against battery terminals #5 Tow-Run switch to RUN #6 Key ON #7 F&R in REVERSE hold throttle pedal down for 5 minutes ( this discharges and resets OBC and capacitors ) #8 Key OFF #9 F&R in NEUTRAL #10 Tow-Run switch to TOW ( at this point I tape switch so cannot be turned on accidentaly ) #11 remove pack POSITIVE CABLE from battery post and wrap tape around cable end #12 THIS IS MY ADD ON ( cover batterys with blanket, towel or rags "NON CONDUCTIVE MATERIAL" so no accidental shorting to batterys isn't possible To RECONNECT DO FOLLOWING A-Key switch OFF B-Run-Tow in TOW C-F&R in NEUTRAL D-Replace Pack POSITIVE CABLE TO battery PLUS post E-Replace Pack NEGATIVE CABLE to Battery NEGATIVE post F-Run-Tow to RUN G-F&R to FORWARD H-Key Switch ON Did you replace batterys last fall and fully charge them before using cart? And if so did you leave charger plugged in during winter months? Not the best way to break a new battery pack in but better than none? |
