Default 2000 DS Solenoid clicking and no charge

I put new batteries in a friends 2000 DS cart. It has set all winter with the batteries disconnected. After installation of the new batteries the charger will not charge. I connected the gray wire to the neg battery terminal and the relay kicks in in the charger but it does not show any amps going to the batteries.

Also when you run the cart the solenoid continually clicks causing the cart to stutter. If I run a neg wire to the negative side of the solenoid it runs forward and reverse with no clicking. I hhave cleanned every terminal on the cart except for the accelerator which I am assuming is an MCOR.

I am almost positive that the OBC is bad but I hate to have him buy an OBC and it not fix the problem.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Check the battery pack voltage, re-check the battery install. Are all batteries connected pos to neg? One maybe in backwards? Solenoid is indicating low voltage problem.

Check the voltage at receptical wire to pack plus post while charger is "on" if you have about 50 some volts charger is working. If not go to STICKIES listed under "Complete Manual Of Power Drive Chargers" for further tests as needed.
With a discharged battery pack the charger amp meter will not show anything for some time ( may be minutes or hours depending on conditions ) its like filling a sponge with water, nothing shows until water has built up inside sponge. Batterys are really chemical sponges.

Voltage across the battery pack is 50.62.
Batteries are installed correctly with the negative cable runing through the OBC to controller and the postive cable is run to solenoid.
The charger only comes on when I connect the gray wire to negative.

It appears that thje solenoid is getting an itermittent signal causing it to chatter. It stays solid with a dedicated ground wire run to it.

well at 50.62 it is not a low voltage problem.

Since batteries were replaced , try the OBC reset procedure just for grins .
read this http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...er-system.html
PS: Let the reverse buzzer, buzz until it stops

OK so here is what I have
Look down through the PDF if one of the wiring diagrams matches U'r cart then
us the OBC troubleshooting section to determin if your is really bad .

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...s.30393425.pdf

If not perhaps someone in here has a 200+ service manual.

Thanks for the resource. Nothing like good old printed material to isolate things.
