Default Digital VM

May be a boneheaded question but here goes nothing. Got digital meter from scottyb (btw thanks scotty), can I piggy back this off of analog meter already installed or should I run separate cable . I don't need 2 meters but I don't want a big hole where analog meter is either. Maybe they make something else that uses that size hole. any suggestions?

You can connect the meters in parallel
I for one would be curious to see how they read side by side.
