The epoxy is it conductive ?? Next time try RTV if you have to redo it its easier to dig out, epoxy is a stronger fix, wonder if there is some harder RTV.

no i did not bench test it ....but i did install it and it works.

a buddy of mine got a Brand new speed sensor from a dealer that was defective...( the one he bought had dirt in the cracks..he got ripped off)

so with nothing to loose i installed the GAMIDE speed sensor model #3
and it works like a charm......

for all of you now wondering ..there is no such thing as model #3...could not resist that one....( stop scratching your heads)

Evidentally the epoxy is not conductive..because it works...but just to make sure ... i have a mega tester that checks continunity at 500 volts.
I will test the beed of expoy that fell on my work bench.

RTV gives off an acid as it cures and i did not want to corrode or cause any damage to the sensor or it's leads in the long run.....

with the epoxy i just had to hold the wires in place for 3 minutes till it cured.. with full cure in 5 minutes..
i am building another one this weekend with 1-minute epoxy...(bought from home depot)

call me if you like 917-685-8902

I see on ebay some one is selling a high speed motor magnet for $55.00 The magnet must be somehow fooling the speed sensor? Is there a cheaper place to buy the magnet?

KCR

I think there are three ways to do this

1. make the divide by 2 unit
2. the magnet is actually like 6 magnets 3north and 3south so if you make it 2 and 2 you have cut it in thirds.
3. I feel you can take a unipolar hall effect device and replace the bipolar hall effect device and only see 3 pulses or divide by 2 maybe someone can try this.
4 speed mode 4
5 replace controller with non CC controller

ok so there are 5

GAMIDE

I am making a slight design change to your speed fooler circuit. I am changing the switch to a "DPDT" (double pole double throw ) . The switch will not only bipass back to normal but will also TOTALLY shut down the circuit.

Second i am installing a fuse in the "RED" line takeoff .. My thinking is in the remote posibility that the voltage regulator would short it will not cause trouble back to my Curtis controller and possible damage it .

I was thinking of a 1/4 or 1/2 amp fuse.... WHT IS YOUR OPINION on the correct fuse..

also how much heat is generated by the voltage regulator...i am enclosing the entire circuit in EPOXY and i'm wondering if i have to let the metal stub of the regulator stick out.....any thoughts
