Talking Can I place the Leaf Spring on top of Axle for slight lift?

I have been reading this, you guys seem to have an answer. Can I rearrange the leaf spring to rest on top of the Axle? Will it break? I just need an inch or 2 to get the fender off my Rear tires and so I can turn fully without rubbing. My tires are a wee to big.

thanks! JM

It is a great Paint Job, want to give it a good finished look. Candy apple Green (2011 chevy camaro)

You can but you are going to have to deal with the spring purchases... They are currently on the bottom

That is what I want to do, bracket the top of the axle, place the leaf springs on top of the Axle, I am just thinking it pulled on the bottom, what happend if the weight pushed from top?

It wont break but its not a "bolt on" deal. You'll either have to buy a kit or fabricate your own parts.

Are you planing to weld new spring purches on top of the axle? You can put the springs on top of the axle without damaging the axle. Remenber the springs is being held in place by the U bolts that go over the axle. The rear of your cart is going to be 3 inches higher than the front if you just do the rear.

I did it once, seemed like a lot of work for 3 inches. I cut the old purchases off & remounted them on top. I remember now the brake cable keeper had to get reworked..... I remembered right.

Whoa...that does look like a bit more work... it is affordability right now, don't want to ruin the fenders and tires ya know? What about the Shocks...Can you put Car shocks on there to give it a bit of a lift?

The front can't be done without spindles right?

That is the other catch. THe CC front end can not be blocked down, I have tried and the wheel alignment goes haywire. Literally ... A homemade Z lift is possible. Just follow the manufactures lead.
