OBC Replacement timer for Timerless Lester Charger
How y'all are? As Justin would say.
Been having trouble with charging the 96 CC Carryall I use on the farm. Not a real piece of eye candy or hopped up, just a worker. Tractor lugs on the back and knobbies on the front. Added a analog Voltmeter when electrical problems started. Appears to be a dead OBC tried pretty much everything have seen on this forum about batteries, chargers and OBC's. Currently using a plug in 7 day programable timer to charger and limiting to 4 hrs so as not to burn batteries. Looking for something inexpensive to fix the situation and charge properly. Was told about this item that i have not seen on here. "O.B.C. replacement timer for timerless Lester charger. Comes with wiring diagram for O.B.C. bypass. For Club Car electric 1995-up 48-volt " Has anyone tried it? How did it perform? Wanted to see the install instructions/wiring diagram but no luck without purchase. and as expected with electrical items, no returns either. Thanks for any help on this Tawtone |

How much $ is that thing? I'm thinking it can be done for less.

Re: OBC Replacement timer for Timerless Lester Charger
A local dealer has told me he plans to order one to stock. When he gets it in i plan to look at the instructions and how this thing hooks up to the charger before i buy. BTW>>>>What should be the maximum voltage allowed at the end of charge cycle while still hooked up to charger?

Re: OBC Replacement timer for Timerless Lester Charger
I knew that was coming when you said 4 hours.... You are missing the float or finishing stage (#3) of the charger algorithm .... 50.9 is a full pack but that is after 12-24 hours of settling.... Plug that thing in and walk away for 12 hours tonight

Re: OBC Replacement timer for Timerless Lester Charger
OK so let me get this straight in my head.
Your OBC no longer functions ? So U have jumped the OBC on the charger ? And U are currently charging the batteries using a rimer on the charger ? And instead of replacing the OBC U are replacing the charger ? |

Your OBC no longer functions ? Correct So U have jumped the OBC on the charger ? Also correct, jumpered from receptical on cart to negative post of first battery And U are currently charging the batteries using a rimer on the charger ? Somewhat correct, the timer is a wall recepticle plug in type rated at 15 amps And instead of replacing the OBC U are replacing the charger ? Somewhat correct, i am looking into using the attachment in the posted picture. A micro processor unit that is supposed to control charge rate and attaches to charger. I am trying to find out if anyone has used this gizmo and how it performs. |
