Default converting 1996 cart to 2005 electronics

I have purchased a1996 club car ds 48 volts it had the black t –shape controller, 2 solenoids and 1 wire resister, motor has 4 wire studs and 3 wire connector in it. It is a rebuild project for me. The place I bought it from said I needed to convert it to the newer electronics so it will run better. They gave me the aluminum mounting bracket for the ds a precedent controller, F-R Switch, OBC, solenoid and precedent wiring harness. I know I probably can’t use the harness. Is it even possible to convert the cart to the new system. i really just want the cart to work new way or old way.

Sounds like they gave you some parts for modern IQ system? I would confirm before starting that all parts will be compatiable? Your stock 1996 48 volt cart is a REGEN 1 and you are going to have to more than likely build your own wiring loom to convert? Your first problem is going to be pedal speed control conversion depending on which pedal casting you now have? 1995=1996 used 2 different speed contols and only one is still available and is NOT what I would use on conversion? You need the modern MCOR speed control unit that mounts under passenger side floor, or a Curtis PB-6 unit.

DBERRY sorry you are too new to send PM to? I would contact TAHOE DAWG Z71 as he is in Augusta area and works for CC dealer as shop manager. If not contact me by PM.

Thanks for the recommendation OLDMEC.. He came to see me at work and we got him hooked up with a new DS IQ Wire harness. Should be up and running in no time.
