Default 2003 Club Car Goes Forward No Reverse

I have an electric 2003 club car golf cart. I bought new batteries, the cart moves forward fine, but for some reason it wont go in reverse... It will barely move in reverse. Any ideas on how I could trouble shoot this? What would you recommend me doing, I am not familiar with golf carts at all, so please be as decriptive as possible. Thanks so much guys!

Questions #1 is your cart a series ( F&R lever under right leg ) or #2 IQ ( F&R rocker type switch ) as controlling forward and reverse are done different? Once forum has needed info tests can be offered for solving problem. #3 Did this problem start before changing batterys? #4 Do you have a digital volt amp meter and know how to do tests?

You really need to get yourself a cheap digital volt amp meter ( I use a Harbor Freight $4-$7 ) as with electric CC you will need often to check on battery condition.
After getting meter I would look for bad 1/2 speed micro switch on back of F&R control ( nearest to batterys ) ( 3 micros stacked ) with 3 wires Green, Black, White and make sure its working. Then if thats OK you need to check contacts inside F&R control for weak spring or burned contacts, loose or broken cables.

Well I figured out what the problem was.... The batterys were connected wrong. Which was not my doing but someone elses. I printed up a diagram on here and noticed one of the wires was connected wrong. Its running strong now. What a world of a difference. Thanks for your help and I will definitely look into a voltage meter as well. Thanks again!!
