Default What Size Circuit Breaker To Install for Charging

I am going to run a separate electrical outlet for charging a Club Car Precedent. The cart has the six 8 volt battery/48 volt system. What size breaker should I put in my breaker box to handle the charger? Also should I use a GFI outlet?

Thanks,
Thomas

No to GFI, standard 15amp is all you need, surge protection desire as lightning surges can travel through charger to cart.

By law any ( outside receptical or extension to outside ) must be protected by a GFI. YES I KNOW THEY DO TRIP BUT BETTER THAN BEING SHOCKED? Depending on length of run from main panel I use minimum 12 guage AWG wire with a 20 amp GFI breaker for safety sakes. For years I used a standard 15 amp breaker with 14 guage wiring with about a 40' of run and found that wiring and receptical got very warm, so added new circuit from panel and no heat build up. Being in my area of electrical storms I have WHOLE HOME SURGE PROTECTION.

Standard Electrical Code calls for a 20amp breaker and a 12g wire... A dedicated circuit would also be recommended

I installed a 20 amp circuit breaker yesterday, but I also installed a 20 amp GFI outlet as the only outlet on this circuit. Was the 20 amp GFI outlet the right size to use?

Thank you
Thomas

VETMAN1 If you installed 20 amp panel breaker and GFI on 12 guage 3 wire romex on a single ( dedicated ) circuit you are in great shape.
