1991 Club Car Question
I am helping a friend work on a 1991 Club Car 36 volt cart. The batteries are brand new and fully charged. It only moves in reverse but really slow with the charger hooked up to it. I have double checked the wiring and cables everything seems ok. Does anyone have any ideas as to what would cause the cart not to accelerate?

Re: 1991 Club Car Question
it has one soleniod and one controller. the arm moves on the controller if that helps you any. Would the controller be bad? My friend bought the cart from an auction they said it ran just needed batteries

I also forgot to tell you the charger goes to 15 amps when plugged into the cart.

Re: 1991 Club Car Question
Is what you are calling the 'controller' the bliack pie shaped thing under the driver's side of the seat? I think so. That is the V-glide.... Controller is a silver box up under the body behind passenger seat... above axle. What do you got?

Re: 1991 Club Car Question
is the charger needle staying pegged at 15 amps or is it coming down? if not something is wrong.....you need to go over everything again and double check your work.................it only takes one mis-wire and thats not hard at all..............................................8 )

Re: 1991 Club Car Question
Didn't he say it moved slowly with the charger hooked up? Isn't the reed switch supposed to keep it from running with the charger hooked up?

the black wire from the charge receptacle to the micro switch inside the wiper box , should prevent this . (I think) either that or the other way around , keep charger from coming on when in F/R ???? |

Re: 1991 Club Car Question
91 you can drive around with the charger plugged in if your A/C cord is long enough, that way you can keep it charged up all the time.
