1985 club car elec 36 volt

My club car will only go when peddel is to the floor.All solenoids click and ohm the way they should.I have been thru the wiring several times.Any ideas?Am I missing something?I have replaced 2 solenoids,one was missing when I got the cart and I broke one when I cleaned the connections.

By going pedal to the floor you are bypassing "all" coil resistors and solenoids "#2, #3, #4. Number #1 solenoid on earlier CC like yours is the main solenoid ( drivers side ) that feeds power to the other 4 through the flat metal bar. You said one was missing, which one was this in order? Check and see if main clicks first and then see if rest click in order ( #2-#3-#4-#5 ) from drivers side to passenger side as pedal is slowly pressed down. With only one speed you are going to have to check all connections to each solenoid and each resistor as very often the heat causes corroded connections and in some cases broken or cracked resistors.
This is one of the reasons that many cart owners switch to solid state controls because solenoids go bad often and most replace "ALL" when one goes bad and this gets very expensive.

The main was the one missing so its new and they all click in order.Whats the solid state consist of?And how much?

You have a box of 5 micro switches at the end of the gas peddle linkage. One to fire each solenoid in progressive order... might be the next thing.... but you said they all click? When they click do they have continuity between their big posts? should be no before the click and yes after a click, for each one.... what about a broken resistor coil? Give them a squeeze or tug are they all good? Gotta be something simple...

The solid state conversion consists of replacing the micro switch cluster with a potentiometer and the solenoids and resistors with an electronic speed control box. That's over simplified~ parts are about $600

I redid all the tests,still only 1 speed,fast.Can the solenoids still be bad?

Yes ~ just because a solenoid makes a click doesn't mean it is making contact. So as a solenoid clicks check for continuity across the large posts, or check for voltage at both large posts.... The solenoid over view below may help you understand what is suppose to b happening with the solenoids so you can test them better.

A quick overview of the solenoid is :
The solenoid is a HD on/off switch or Contactor
the connection is made /broken between the 2 large terminals. The 2 small terminals are the activation circuit. typically one terminal will have a constant negative connection to the pack. When Positive power is applied to the second small terminal the contact is drawn up against the spring to make contact. When power from either side of the activation circuit is removed then contact is released and the spring pushes it away interrupting the circuit ...It doesn't matter which small terminal is neg or pos on the activation circuit (or which polarity is the constant) so long as you have both....

swap out the last solinoid with the second solinoid in the string and see if it changes anything

well looks like maybe i have a bad selonoid no it wont run at all and the solenoid click is less noisier than before

well i've checked and tesred every way the book says,including swaping the solenoids.Still the same.Can anyone tell me the path the current takes when its in the speeds outher than high?What voltage goes to the motor in the different speeds,in high I get 36 in forward and 18 in reverse.Almost ready to give up on this thing(said this before lol and still at it)Im sure im missing something simple but I cant find it.
