Microswitch worked great, so back to square one with solenoids. I don't have a jack so I've just replaced each position with a new solenoid. Still no luck on fixing the original problem. Hopefully will have a borrowed jack tonight.

Thanks GLEMMO I attempt to make things simple for non mec's and newbys, may miss alot as brain isnt what it used to be? Spent couple of years trying to teaching a vocational school mec class in evenings? Way beyond my own education for sure?

It's the fifth one most likely. It's stuck closed. That's why you're getting high speed as soon as the master solenoid turns the solenoid pack on. Replace the one closest to the passenger side and it should work just fine.
