need some information and advise
Hi everyone,
Been a while since I have been over here.I have a Taylor Dunn B2-54 burden carrier I use on the farm and at the campground.Well it is so heavy and I am tired of hauling it back and forth with the horse trailer all the time.Plus it doesn't drive nice like a golf cart so my kids get dissapointed with me when I don't let them hop on it for a spin. So I would like to pick up a 48 volt cart for use at the campground. My problem is I can't figure out what models and yrs of carts to look for or stay away from.I did a search but didn't yield the info I wanted. I like the Club Cars but an EZGo wouldn't be out of the question either. I am hoping to find a basic cart for now.I can mod it later with lift kit and tires and stuff when finances allow. If anyone could give me some idea of things to watch out for and look for I would appreciate it.I might go look at a couple places that sell them south of me 20 miles to see what they have to offer. Thanks guys |

Re: need some information and advise
In CC I would go with 2000.5 and up DS MODEL SERIES MOTOR ( F&R lever controlled under right leg ) as they have modern controls. Personally I DO NOT LIKE THE IQ carts ( rocker type switch under right leg )
I am no expert on EZGO so maybe SCOTTYB can help with what models 48 volts are avaliable? |

Re: need some information and advise
I had hoped to go look tonight but its not going to happen.I will have to wait a few days.I only have really been around CC carts.
So a 2000.5 up DS. Cart is what to look for?I want something I can mod later without worrying about having some odd ball electronics in it.I know there seems to be alot of aftermarket support for the CC. |

Re: need some information and advise
Good luck on your quest one thing I forgot to mention if you find a CC "PRECEDENT" ( Precedent is newer model than DS and all IQ and some dealers etc are having a hard time getting them sold in some areas ) thats really cheap in price ( look out for 12 volt batterys ) rather than 8 volt batterys that CC has gone back to. Conversion costs are pretty steep as kit is required at about $400. plus batterys?
SHADOWMAN I thought that EZGO made some 48 volt carts but I could be wrong? |

Re: need some information and advise
So I need to watch out for having 4 12volt batteries instead of the normal 6 8 volt batteries. Those carts are not desired then.I take it the 12 volt batteries don't last. ?
I found a CC I think its an 04 DS with top and new batteries for close to $1500. Is that reasonable? |
