Default T-875 How long off charger?

Hey,

I bought a set of new T-875 batteries for my Precedent about a week ago. I decided to tear the cart down to the frame to clean it up a bit.

My question is... How long can I leave my batteries off the charger? It will probably be a few weeks before the cart is put back together with the new conversion kit

Should I get a 8v battery tender to keep them charged or can I use a 12v one that I have for my motorcycle?

Fully charge the batteries before you take them out of the cart. 3-4 weeks should be fine.

I know this will get an argument from forum members but if you remove batterys from cart be sure and put them some where OFF OF CEMENT OR GROUND. I found long ago that they discharge much faster on cement or ground.

Wouldn't want to disappoint you OM
That is from surface discharge due to moisture contact between the 2 posts.
As evidence shows on a battery left out in a long rain, or fog. Any moisture across the top will drain the battery.
If the top is clean and dry you can set it in a pan of water without effect.

SCOTTYB I am well aware of moisture discharge but many years ago I found that early plastic cased batterys discharge much faster on dry ground and especially cement. Smart *** as I was in my younger years I bet a battery rep ( GOULD ) that when 2 same model fully charged batterys, one on cement under shelf and other on a wood shelf in shop that cement one would run down faster than other and I won as he did checking and found me correct? A month or so later Gould came out with a written recommendation to keep there batterys off ground or cement?
I will say that MAYBE new batterys are different BUT I still keep MY batterys off of cement or ground?

If they are going to sit longer than a month you should put the cables and the charger receptacle on them and charge as usual. IMHO.
