Default Should upgrade include F/R?

Got a '00 CC DS I'm upgrading with 500A controller, solenoid, 2/0 cables, high torque motor. Recognizing that the F/R switch is in the current path, is the standard one too wimpy to take the amps and are the HD ones out there significantly better? Not looking for quantitative answer as much as anecdotal experience - are the standard F/R switches heating up under such upgrade condidtions?

you can replace the aluminum foil bus bars in the switch with chunky copper bars if you are the crafty type. i personally found the weight and bulk of 2/0 cables to be problematic with the cc switch design though...

Thanks for the responses, guys. Yes, I am a bit concerned that the stiffer 2/0 cables will make the switch tougher to turn. What's the alternative?

A bit more clarity, please; the stock F/R switch IS a "switching contactor". I was asking if there are any aftermarket F/R switches that are HD and do not require the attached cables to rotate with the switch rotor.

DBLOM is your cart a SERIES Motor ( F&R Lever under right leg ), OR SHUNT Motor ( F&R rocker type switch under right leg ) as controlling is done in different ways? Need to confirm which you have as one is mechanical and other is all electric through controller?
