The resistor carts are not as fast as 2000 and up carts and in all cases unless batterys are weak or too light amp rated or any parts lacking should give similiar performance to previous owned cart and sorry but no two carts are the same in performance?
Just because cart just came from shop does not mean that every thing is in top notch condition? Start by checking condition of each batterys voltage ( 6.37 volts ) and total pack voltage ( 38.22 volts ) ( specific gravity of 1.275 on each battery cell ). If cart has new batterys they need a break in period of at least 30-100 discharge charge cycles to come up to full power. Inspect all 6 guage cables for corrosion and tightness.
Yes I would check each solenoid and resistor coil and connetions to confirm that the pedal speed control micros are working correctly. Another thing to test is the brakes and front wheel bearings for drag.
Let forum know what you find wrong.

That depends on what your definition of "megabucks" is! Old Mec is right, first find out if anything is not working the way it should, then start the upgrade. Batteries, wires, brakes, bearings all should be chaecked. I would alos check the contactors (wiper) in the VGlide and the condition of the contacts in the F&R switch. Both of these can rob juice from getting where it needs to go.

If everything is working right post back and I'm sure you'll get lots of advice on upgrades (4G Wire, PQ motor, etc)

The 36 volt reading is taken across the whole battery pack from one end to the other.

Just wondering?Do you think it would make a difference if That Hitachi 36 volt electric motor was pulled off and had an electric motor shop go through it new brushes, turn the armature? Some of those new motors look like they might help but WOW they are spendy for me anyway. Thanks

I pulled mine and sent it to Plum Quick (they are a sponsor here). The price is right. I did it im my 89 resistor cart and was very happy with the result. That is probably going to get you the best result per dollar you spend. I used genuinedealz.com for 4G wiries, something you'll want once you have the motor upgraded.

I would do checks first rather than jumping ahead and not confirming batterys, solenoids and resistors, cable condition, THIS IS TIME WELL SPENT. Its like checking a auto carburator because the gas tank is empty? Then when sure of conditions YES then check motor for rebuilding. The basic 36 volt motor is best available for solid state control updates and 48 volt power supply.
