Reverse Only Club Car DS Series
My cart all of a sudden quit going forward. Put it in reverse and it goes. I don't see any lose wires and I cleaned the contacts on the forward/reverse switch. When in forward, I hear a clicking sound much like what you hear on a car with a dead battery. I have NO experience dealing with electric golf carts. I plugged up the charger and it seems as if it will not take a charge.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. |

Re: Reverse Only Club Car DS Series
Still doesn't make sense to me. I never knew there was an up or down adjustment on a Forward/Reverse switch. Either way...doesn't have anything to do with the batteries not charging.
Double check all your connections and make sure they are clean and tight. Make sure they don't look burnt. |

Re: Reverse Only Club Car DS Series
Thanks for all the input. I cleaned all of the cables and found two that were in questionable condition. Replaced these two and BAMMMM, it works.
Thanks to all. |

Re: Reverse Only Club Car DS Series
That's nicer than the pm I got! if two cables were in bad enough condition to make the cart not go up in forward....how far off do you think the rest of them are from the same condition? Are they all they same age? Cables corrode on the inside and resist electric current. Good luck.

Re: Reverse Only Club Car DS Series
OK Guys. Here's another way you will have reverse and no forward.
The reverse runs off the first 3 batts on the drivers side. If these batts are good, you have a reverse. Forward funs off the total pack. On this particular cart, the last battery was totally shot, which would not let the current flow . I put a used battery in it's place and the cart is back in business. |
