bad OBC???
95 CC DS 48v. i have replaced the solenoid, resistor, diode, all microswitches, checked every wire for continuity and all tests out good. batteries are good, less than 1 year old, i have tested them. I have had my charger tested as well, from a CC dealer.
need to know if my OBC is the problem. Cart won't move, nor will it charge. i can get the wheels to turn if i run a wire from the yellow wire on the solenoid to the negative terminal on #6 battery. wheels turn both directions. charger clicks when i plug it in, but i see no rise in voltage across the pack. pack is around 49v with or without the charger plugged in. out of the charge receptacle i get around 55v, but its not getting to the pack. also, charger hums very quietly but the needle never moves. i have a replacement OBC from CC still in the package in my garage, but i am hesitant to open it unless i really need it. (they said i could return it if i don't open it, and those bastards are not cheap).... thoughts?? |

Re: bad OBC???
i tried resetting it, no dice. i have an old one that came with the car, going to see if that one works before i open the new one.
any downside to leaving it bypassed, besides having to babysit the charger, of course? |

Re: bad OBC???
honestly ???? no other than the OBC not telling the charger to be more specific about each battery voltage.........i know a few carts that have been bypassed for several years now with no issues but if it were mine and i had the cash i like things right...........if you forget about the charger just once it can be a costly mistake............................

I thought when you bypass the obc it is for a test only as the charger puts out full power only and not the 3 stage charge the batteries are designed to receive? Can any Club Car guy verify or dis-spell this info? |
