Default Rapid discharge on brand new batteries

Just bought a 48v Club Car. Batteries seemed weak on test drive. Guy said batteries were only 2 years old and had not been charged in a while. I charged them and they would rapidly decharge in about 10-20 minutes. I put brand new batteries in and the same thing is happening.

What should be my next system to check?

The car is one of those rebuilds. Everything looks brand new on outside. Super nice looking but the motor is old.

Thanks,
Trevor

the first 2 digits of the serial # give the year of the cart, like # IQ0355934837 is a 2003 cart. also is the F&R shift a lever or rocker switch?

Questions needed answered for forum to help you
#1 Did you leave charger hooked up until it turned off on its own?
#2 Did you charge the new batterys before first time use and recharge after each use?
#3 Did you get correct voltage and golf cart quality batterys rather than purchasing by price only?
#4 Do you have a digital volt meter to confirm amount of charge?
#5 What model, year, serial number, and type of F&R control do you have?
