Default 48v charger

Hi Guys, Just changing workshop around.
Can I use extension lead on my charger,or does it have to be close to socket with short lead.

Ideally it would be close to the outlet and plug in with it's short little cord. If you must use an extension make it as short as possible (do not use a 100ft cord to go 25 ft) and made of heavy 12 or 10 gauge wire.

No reason why you can't use an extension cord to charge the cart.

Thanks Fellas, now I will have to find our equivalent to your 10 or 12 gauge wire.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America...AWG_wire_sizes

9 to 10awg = 84/0.3
11awg = 56/0.3
13awg = 50/0.25

you can make it as long as you want as long as you properly size the wire to meet the ampacity requirements. best bet is to check your local code (AS3008.1) so if something blows up, you aren't SOL.
