Re: control?
the black box all the wires go to, the cart does not have coils. it's located between the batteries and motor.
Here's what i got......i bought ten club cars from a local golf course all between 1980-1991. some of the carts have been butcherd. 3 of them are coils the others run off control box. non of the carts had batteries and since everything is a mess i was thinking that i would strip the carts and rewire everything according to club car diagram, but i am wondering if there is anyway to test the components.or do i have to put batteris in each cart then trouble shoot? |

Re: control?
You do need proper voltage to test the controller. Basically you will need at least 3 12v batteries to simulate 36v test voltage.

Re: control?
Here is the basics
Controller output test: Hook the red probe to the B+ on the controller and the black probe to the M- on the controller. As you depress the pedal, you should read voltage across those 2 terminals of the controller. Check the power output from the controller by connecting the negative probe to the controller's M- terminal and positive to the B+ terminal. Press the accelerator and watch to see if the voltage increases. It should increase from a reading of 0 to the full voltage of the battery. If the motor is not turning, the problem may be in the directional switch or motor. The controller is bad and must be replaced if there is no voltage. Good Luck! |
