welcome.....i take it that its a ds? lever F&R..... have you opened up the V-glide? if not start there you,ll have to take the front drivers side battery out to get a good look but open it up and check the wiper arm and all the pads for proper wear.....theres really nothing else unless your controller is having a fit and thats unlikely, its also possible that something happened to linkage but again unlikely.....................has anyone worked on cart? how did this start all of a sudden or something thats just been getting worse?? last one i saw that acted that way was really messed up inside the V-glide.......................

thanks tom, i am a golf cart mechanic in south carolina. the cart has given me all kinds of surprises. the cart 1st came in not running in reverse, we found the problem in the wiring harness under the f&r assembly. the black/white wire that is connected into the black wire, that slows the cart down for reverse. i talked to another club car mechanic, he told me to cut out that splice, and put a butt connector in that spot, it caused the cart to run full speed in reverse, the customer had no problem with this. everything ran fin, we delivered it back.
3 days later, the cart stopped on them, this time , no forward or reverse. i picked it up, and we have changed the solenoid, controller, and have did continuity test on all the wires , the cart runs full speed when you press the pedel, and as the pedel is pressed down the cart gets slower until it stops, this thing has me stumped, i have never had this happen before or has my friend that was a club car mechanic for 25 years.
what do you suggest we try next???? thanks kim

it sounds like something is hooked up backwards?? if its starting out full speed and as you give it pedal it slows and than stops wow thats a good one.......i take it you have rechecked all the wiring and went over the work? i would if you didn,t..........i,m sure you know how easy it is to just misplace one wire and it go to crap..........i,m thinkin..........................

If the microswitch had the wires reversed, would that do it?

Tom, what do you think? It seems to be an issue with the vglide. does the micro control which direction the current flows through the vglide?

i wonder if its a 0 to 5k thing or a 5 to 0k thing like with a pot.......it could be controller if it was replaced and not right......you did replace it right? is it a powerdrive or powerdrive plus? i know they had a plus in 97.......i don,t know if microswitch would do it or not only way to find out is reverse wires? i would get some info on the controller to make certain its right and wires are hooked right............................................8 )

My money is on the controller being set up for wrong pot input (0 to 5K when should be 5K to 0 or the other way around). If it is a programable controller you can program it for the correct pot input.

I'm with them,I had that problem when I programed an alltrax for what I thought was a 0-5k pot when fact it was 5k-0 v-glide,if you changed controllers you have the wrong throttle set up.Good luck Dave
