Default 1997 club car electric will move a little

I have 2 1997 club golf carts . They batteries are fully charged on both . When i push the pedal the carts it will lurch forward a little bit and then it stops. The same thing happens in forward or reverse. Replaced the siliniod on one of them and had the same results . Not sure what to try now. Any ideas?

I'm not sure but the good news is when you fix one you will know how to fix the other one

Hopefully others will be of help : )

Forum needs more info 36 V or 48 voltage and what type of F&R does each cart have SERIES ( Lever under right leg ) REGEN SHUNT ( rocker type F&R switch under right leg )
What type of pedal speed control on each cart ( #1 one black unit around pedal shaft with solid state controller ) ( #2 V Glide control with resistor bank ) ( #3 V Glide with solid state controller ) as each one is different in operation need info first.

BY no means am I an expert but I am working on my 1995 48v cc right now. Mine was doing something similar. I also replaced the solenoid with no change in cart behavior. I tracked down the problem as being the 18 guage yellow wire going from the small terminal post on the solenoid to the obc. Apparantly this is a ground wire that is tied in to the lock out function that kicks in when the charger is plugged in. If the obc thinks the charger is plugged in it disconnects this ground wire funtion from the solenoid and the wheels may spin just a bit but then nothing happens. The way I confirmed it was by taking a jumper cable from that small solenoid terminal post to the #6 (-) post. Pressed the pedal and the solenoid clicked and the cart now runs like a champ. I opted to not replace the obc because the charging funtion still operates perfectly. I asked around on this site to make sure I wouldn't burn something up by creating a permanent jumper and for the most part everyone agrees that I should be ok...
good luck

if hes talking about jumping from the soleniod don,t worry about where the yellow wire goes.....run a jumper from that same small post on soleniod over to neg. battery terminal of #6 battery and see if cart runs if so you have a bad OBC leave the yellow wire alone just jump from the same post..........................
