Default 1996 club car

i have a 96 club car that surges at mid range speed top speed ok slow speed ok it has a rocker switch for forward and rev the accelerator pedal has a potetiometer on left side of cart (i have not seen one here before looks factory) also it has aux solinoide going to one resistor with cables going to resistor and back dont make since to me the resistor is the sise of a v glide cart (never seen anything like this) lots of wires going to controller. can anyone help me figure this weird cart out so it will operate smooth instead of in and out it also has auto hill braking any way to just make a standard cart thanks in advance WOODY

thats what the extra soleniod and resistor coil are for the reagan braking...............the speed problem can be in the pot........is it a powerdrive plus........if so they only made that cart for 2 or 3 years and parts are a bit difficult you have to make sure you always give them ser# and all info on it ............i think that pot can be adjusted but i,m not 100% certain....................

i tried adjusting pot with no help if i hold at 3/4 it jumps and surges (cuts out) full pedal seems ok low speed stays constant. would you think this still seems like pot replacement may work and do you have to buy from club car or is this something i can match up? it does seem like a dead spot in pot .controller was replaced by previous owner i dont think the problem lies there or motor also it is a power drive plus thanks for your opinion WOODY

The pot for that model is as far as I know unavailable but you can get the mcor conversion kit from club car dealers for +-$260 and its fairly simple to install

i have a dead cart same year with the pot, 1st let me ask you how attached are you to this cart?? i was gonna bring mine back to life but after everything i,m finding out i,m really leaning towards just parting it out, even trying to get the OBC for it is just about impossible and forget about the controller there is an aftermarket but its over 700.00 dollars...........i will decide in the next week or so if i,m parting it out and i,ll sell you the pot if thats your problem which i,m not 100% certain but maybe someone else here will have an answer.....if your not really attached to it you might want to think about trading it or selling it while its running and get something else.......like i said they only made them for 2 years or so and its a nightmare everytime i look for parts and i have lots of options for parts........................
