battery exploded
hi all newbe here first time post and first golf cart.... i have a 96 club car ive had it for three weeks pulled it out of the garage to go to the gas station and bang seat poped up and i ( $%&@ ) my pants well one of my batterys exploded.... i have everything nice and clean batterys charge good never changed any wiring so i was woundering if anyone can tell me what might of happend and has it happend to someone ells before thanks....

Man, no it hasn't happend to me and hope it doesn't! I bet you did need some new fruit of the looms! How old were the batteries? Had you been charging them?

yes just took it off the charger pulled out of the garage hit the front lawn and it was over.... stoped dead in my tracks... um im not sure how old they are they look good nice and clean all the cells insid look good ther trojan batterys so im sure its gana cost me some cash for a new one....

i'd recommend trying to get a replacement of approximately the same age/condition if possible.

Wow, that is not good! Glad your OK. Usually there is a letter and number stamped in the post of the battery. Example, E7 would be May 2007 production. Good luck and be careful. Also, I would get in there and wash everything with a baking soda and water mixture to eliminate any acid corrosion...

i dont know how to post a pic of it to show all of you guys its like i have to post it on the net first.. but its crazy looking the plastic tray that goes over the batterys is gone it just shatterd into peices i was shaking for a good 15 to 20 min after it was louder then a shot gun going off.........

That's October of 05, I would say it's about time for a new set! Don't worry, it will only be between $600-$900.00 for a good set.
Yes, post some pics! Load the picks on your puter and reply to this thread. Click on the paper clip on the tool bar, then find you pic on the puter, double click it then hit upload. Glad your OK. That would REALLY suck to get a battery acid enema!!!!!!!! |
