Default 1990 DS Motor Wiring Help

So I'm trying to figure out if I have the motor wired incorrectly, which is leading to my problem. According to the diagram, I should be connected (going from top down) in the following manner.

(2) Being post S1 to passenger lug on F/R switch rocker
(3) Being post S2 negative #1 battery
(4) Being post A2 to end of resistor coils
(1) Being post A1 to lug on side of F/R switch (main copper bar)

Haven't checked continuity yet, but plan to.

Also, does anyone know the process to check this motor with one battery. I can't find the process in the forums.

Scotty, how would I pull that off on the motor I have? I understand the sequence, but since my posts are in-line, am I correct in my thinking that from the top my posts are S1, S2, A2 and A1?

Okay, checked the continuity on the motor, and found I was wrong. Thus, could have led the wiring BBQ last week.

Tried running the battery as it was connected, thinking the motor was set up as S1, S2, A2, A1. However, all I got was a spark when throwing the switch. Changed the layout to S1, A2, S2, A1 and it started spinning! So, I'm moving forward with the current layout, as I think that will solve the spark & fire problem.
