Default 1996 Club Car - Do I need MCOR Conversion

I have a 1996 Clubcar 48v. It was a regen model but several years ago I repaced everything with a speed kit from Buggies Unlimited. Now it has quit running. I checked the pot and I think it is bad. With the pedal up I am getting .24 ohms and fully depressed it is reading 6.89 ohms with meter set on 20k. Readings vary each time but this is a good approximation. I know at rest it should be reading around 5000 ohms and close to 0 fully depressed. First question is, I am checking between the yellow and purple wires going to the #2 and #3 post on the controller. Is that the two correct wires to test. Next question is, my pot has the black plug which is no longer available. Can I use one with the grey plug and just splice the wires together or do I have to buy the conversion kit? Any and all responses are very much appreciated and this is a great site for information. Thanks.

Barry

Those readings are within tolerance for a 1996 CC potentiometer.... that will work with any 0-5k controller
