Micro Switch Post Hookups
I have two micro switches, one inside the v-glide and one on the F/R switch. Both are burnt crisp, and are going to be replaced. However, they have 3 posts on the micro switch, and I only have two wires. I believe the two wires go to top and bottom posts, but do I need a ground wire for the middle one, or is nothing needed?

Re: Micro Switch Post Hookups
nothing is needed. this is called a single pole, double throw (SPDT) switch. the 3rd terminal allows the switch to be wired as normally open, normally closed or both. you can ignore the 3rd terminal if it is not currently used.
*edit - doh! that photo didn't work too good.... this is a good cutaway view that shows how the switch works. spdt |
