Default 2002 regen 2 club car slowing down

Been awhile since I posted on here, but now that it's summer I'm finding that my, 2002 48 volt club car with regen 2 system is slowing down. It seems to only want to get up and go when the throttle is fully engaged to the floor, and hardly wants to pull blacktop hills at all, just barely crawls up them. I think I remember hearing a click last year when I depressed the foot pedal and now I don't hear it. That is why I was wondering if this model has a solenoid and if anyone out there thinks this could cause this problem. I replaced all six batteries in Aug. of 2010, and was carefull to give it several full charges as instructed on here for new battery packs, I also replaced all the cables and connectors going to the batteries, kept it in a non heated garage all winter, and went out to fully charge the pack at least once a month during winter. All water levels are above the plates and connections going to batteries are snug. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Tinkerman

next time you drive it after going a few hundred feet get off lift the seat and see if the resistor coil behind the batteries is glowing red if so your reagan soleniod might not be working......i have seen this a few times.............................

Thanks for the info, Shadowman. I won't get back to the campground for a few days now as we are going on a little trip, but when I get back I will give that a try and post what I find. From what I've read I had kind of been leaning toward a solenoid being bad, but I didn't know how to test it, so this info will come in handy. I just wonder if I have one solenoid or two. The diagram I pulled up for a 2002 regen power glide club car, shows two solenoids?! Thanks again. Tinkerman

if you have a reagan cart you have 2 soleniods.....your F&R selector will be a rocker switch instead of the lever type if you have the lever type its not a reagan and will have one soleniod..........if a reagan the resistor coil will either be behind the battery pack on pass side or on driver side mounted high same height as controller....if its this one mounted high the resistor coil will be bolted right to soleniod if other one coil is by itself.....................

Exclamation Re: 2002 regen 2 club car slowing down

Thanks again, Shadowman. I do have the F/R rocker switch that is mounted right below the seat in the middle, so then I do have the regen system and the 2 solenoids. Thanks I will check and see where my resistor solenoid is located then as soon as I can. Tinkerman
