Default stiff suspension?

Last summer I bought a 2003 Club Car that was originally set up to be street legal. It has the roll bar, seat belts, etc., etc. I have noticed the ride seems very stiff and bumps in the cartpaths are a pain. Can anyone tell me if this is a function of the factory setup to be on the streets? I'm also wondering, as you might imagine, if there's a reasonably priced way to get a smoother ride.
Thanks

What kind of wheels and tires are on the cart?
Can you post a picture or two of it, front and rear suspension?

if, for some reason, there are heavy duty springs in it you can remove the middle spring in the rear.

My tires are 215/60-8 Loadstars. Two pics are attached. One of the front end and one of the right side rear end. Thanks!

Unfortunately you have a stock suspension with no additional springs to remove.
Looking at your pictures it looks like your trouble is all in the tire.
You don't mention it but check tire sidewall ply rating, probably 6ply with very short sidewall means stiff ride.
What air pressure are you running in them? front, back?
Might need to air down to get some flex.

The tires are inflated to about 15psi and say they are rated for 34psi at max load. The sidewall says 2 PLY! Would a different tire make a big difference? Thanks,

Yes it would, but first air down to 5psi and see what happens.
If you still have a round tire at 5, drop a little more.
You can go lower in the front also.

Thanks, I'll give it a try tomorrow. I'm curious, if I start looking at a different tire, is it a different size I would be looking for, or construction, brand, etc.? Thanks for the infor btw. This is being really helpful.
