96 club car just stopped
my first time so bear with me. My 96 club car was in use and the kids stopped after 5 min they got on it and nothing happen when they pushed the pedel. Batteries have a good charge, I did find a lose wire on the fuel pedel control and fixed that, it may go slow or not its intermittent. the motor seems to be a little loud.

Re: 96 club car just stopped
When you press the peddle and it won't go do you hear the solenoid click?
If yes you could have a potentiometer (throttle position indicator) problem. If no it could be a micro switch problem in the solenoid activation circuit |

Re: 96 club car just stopped
solenoid does click, it does move now but very slow in rev and about half speed in for
but the motor is grinding like the bearings are going out. is that common |

Re: 96 club car just stopped
Sometimes the input shaft and bearings go out ~ sometimes it is the motor and sometimes it is an axle bearing ...... sometimes the spider gears.... Is there any oil in it?

Re: 96 club car just stopped
It does have oil to the fill plug. I have a spare motor and axle I may switch them out and see what happens. I needed a second opinion before I go thru all that work.
What do you think? |

Re: 96 club car just stopped
Pull the motor and spin the wheels to see if you can hear any noise... anything you can hear turning by hand will be greatly multiplied by speed.
I would try the motor first. Be sure to use 2 wrenches on the motor terminals, do not let the studs spin! |
