Default Charger Problem!

i have a 2003 club car ds, also have powerdrive 2 charger, the problem i am having is i plugged it in to the charger last night at 10pm at 5pm today it was still charging about 6 amps i'm guessing, i checked the total pack and it was 55.8volts, each battery was 9.1volts, my question is: why isn't my charger cutting off?

because the charger won't shut off until the on charge voltage reaches 63 volts..... I would suspect a bad battery in the mix somewhere.

regardless of voltage your charger should time out after 16 hours if not something happened......and yes you still could have a battery issue but it still should time out and shut off........can you try your charger on another cart? if so than try and if its works and shuts off good chance its your OBC but again it could be in the charger......to check your batteries use a voltage meter and take voltage from each battery and than load test each one and than check cells with a hydrometer......if you have any bad ones this should tell you...........................

Can you get a hydrometer? Get one with the floating needle, not the floating balls used for antifreeze. They are at most auto parts houses.... sample all the cells in all the batteries. Look for any dirty or brackish water, that's a bad sign. Mostly look for any significant variation between cells in a given battery and any significant variations from battery to battery. What you are looking for 12 hours after the charge is a nice even reading of nearly 1.275 across the board.
