Low Speed
Hey guys
First of all, want to say a big thanks for all the help in my previous post. I'm new to this and appreciate all the feedback. I changed the OBC in my cart as per all the suggestions and that did solve the problem. Cart now works. Now to my new question. My 1995 Club Car Electric Series with fully charged, new batteries starts off with great acceleration, very quick. Then, it seems to really slow down, almost to the point where it is really slow. Other carts pass me no problem which leads me to believe I have a problem with the running speed. Is there any way to check to see if there is a problem with the output? What about talking off the governor? I'm not sure if it is a related issue, but after about an hour or 2 of driving, the battery light comes on when stopped. About 2 seconds after starting it again, the light goes off. Batteries still show a charge of 47-48 volts when this happens. Thanks for all the help. |

Re: Low Speed
Hi
Yes it is a good battery pack. All 6 are brand new and will hold the full charge of 52 volts for awhile. |

Re: Low Speed
Just as a comparison my 2000 Series with 6 X 8 v batteries shows 52.5v at full charge and after a round of golf on a fairly hilly course shows 50.2 Yours showing as low as 47-48 after 1 - 2 hrs indicates a battery problem, maybe only one but I would check all of them.

Re: Low Speed
I'm sure someone smarter than me will have the answer, but from what I have read, new batteries need many (50?) charging cycles before they are up to full capacity (strength). . . the nature of deep cycle batteries . .

yes how long is awhile?....most people for some reason don,t want to beleive that their problem could be a battery issue.......i asure you most cart issues are solved never going past the batteries......and at the very least it eliminates them as the problem...................... |

Re: Low Speed
Thanks for the info. All 6 batteries are brand new. They have 3 full charges. So the batteries dropping charge will cause a drastic reduction in speed?
What do you guys think about removing the governor if that is possible? |

Re: Low Speed
there is no gov. to remove.......your 95 its just a DS model right? F&R is lever and not rocker switch.....and if the batteries are brand new 3 charges........new batteries are only about 75% so while your breaking them in you will notice a increase in speed in the process........its gonna take time and several complete charge/discharge cycles.........if your not happy with stock speed your options are a bigger controller and hi speed motor......and eith all 4 gage or 2 gage cables, not just battery cables but all cables that will get you 25 mph or so maybe even more.........................
