Default PQ Bandit Concerns

Ok, now as most of you know I got the new PQ Bandit motor finally installed on my 06 Precedent.
I question is in regards to the top end speed.
I charged up the batteries and took it for a test drive with only me in it and I'm only getting consistently 22 mph and my top was 23.3 mph. The batteries are only a month old and I was reaching 18.9 mph with the old motor. I definitely thought I would be going about 24-25 mph.
Just to let you know my set up I have the stock controller still and I'm riding on 12" wheels with 22" tires and I'm pretty sure I'm at speed setting 3 from what I've been told about and read.
Do the motors need any kind of break in period or do you think it's cause my batteries are still new?
Should I contact PQ?

I think that the controller should be the first thing replaced in an iq cart. I built a reader for the curtis controller and have found that 60 some amps is about all the controller will put out there rated at 150 but that is a 2 minute rating. 60 at both arm and field each. The stock cc controller is programmed for low speed and low current.

Once you cycle the batteries a couple dozen times and you run the motor to let the brushes seat better to the commutator, you should gain speed.

Keep in mind that tire pressure and any drag such as brakes will also effect your speed

Scubabud, what size are your tires and what pressure do you run?

My tires are 22" and the pressure that I ran when getting my speeds posted in my signature was 20psi. I can easily move my cart by hand forward and back... absolutely no drag on it.

THANKS!! I know for sure mine don't have that much air. I'll have to bump them up a little and it doesn't seem like the cart has any drag from the brakes, but I'm gonna double check.
Thanks again!
